In The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans, a mother grieves the loss of her child at the base of an angel monument. Though the story is fiction, many believed such a monument once existed. When grieving parents began searching for it, Evans commissioned the creation of new Angel of Hope statues across the country.
The Angel of Hope at St. Anne’s, dedicated on September 15, 2007, is one of only a limited number nationwide. Each year on December 6, families gather here for a candlelight ceremony to remember children who have died and to find comfort in the hope their memory brings.
